The short version
Your scanned cards never leave your phone. There is no Divergeix server, and we receive no copy of anything you scan.
Two things do involve Google: signing in with your Google account, and paying through Google Play. Those are handled by Google, and what follows explains exactly what is involved.
What stays on your device, always
When you scan a business card, the app keeps the following in its own private storage on your phone:
- the photograph of the card
- the text recognised from it
- the contact details extracted from that text — name, job title, company, phone numbers, email addresses, website, address
- any corrections you make, and any event label you add
- your subscription status, trial start date and how many cards you have scanned
- whether a lead has already been written to your phone's contact book
None of this is uploaded. There is no cloud sync, no backup to our servers, and no analytics. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it.
How the card is read
Text recognition runs entirely on your device, using Google ML Kit's bundled on-device text recognition. The recognition models are included inside the app, so no image and no text is ever sent anywhere for processing. This is why the download is around 30 MB and why scanning works in airplane mode.
Signing in with Google
Signing in is optional. The free trial works without an account, and a subscription bought through Google Play is tied to your Google Play account, not to a sign-in inside the app. If you do sign in, the app receives your email address and a Google account identifier from Google Sign-In, and stores them on your device so the app can show which account is in use.
If you sign in, the cards you scan are kept in a separate space on the phone for that account. Signing out hides them, and another account signing in on the same phone sees only its own cards. Cards scanned before signing in are handed to the first account that signs in. All of this stays on the device; uninstalling the app removes every account's cards.
- We do not transmit your email to any Divergeix server, because there isn't one.
- We do not read your Gmail, Drive, Contacts or any other Google data.
- Authenticating necessarily involves Google. Their handling of that is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
- Your subscription is tied to the Google account that purchased it and is restored by Google Play itself.
You can sign out at any time from the overflow menu. Signing out returns you to the sign-in screen; your scanned cards remain on the device untouched.
The card as the contact's picture
When you save a lead to your contacts you can choose to keep the scanned card as that contact's picture. If you do, a cropped copy of the card photo is written into the contact on your phone, alongside the name and numbers. It is never applied over a picture the contact already has, and it goes nowhere else. The switch on the review screen turns this off, and the app remembers your choice.
Payments
Subscriptions are sold and processed by Google Play Billing. Divergeix never sees or handles your card, UPI ID, bank details or billing address — that transaction is entirely between you and Google.
What the app stores locally is only whether a subscription is active and which plan it is. Manage, change or cancel a subscription from the Play Store at any time; cancelling is not something the app can do on your behalf.
What Stacksift sends
Nothing to us. The app has no backend, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no telemetry.
Network activity happens only inside Google's own components — sign-in, and the Play Billing client checking your subscription. Neither carries your scanned cards or contacts.
Permissions, and why each is needed
Camera — to photograph business cards. Images are saved to the app's private storage and used only for recognition and for showing you the card you scanned.
Contacts (read and write) — only when you tap to save a lead to your phone book.
Write access adds or updates the contact. Read access is used for two things: Android's contacts provider will not accept an insert from an app that cannot read the book it is inserting into, and Stacksift checks each phone number and email address on the card against the book so it does not create a second copy of someone you already have. That check happens on your device, at the moment you tap save, and looks only at numbers and addresses. Nothing about your existing contacts is stored by Stacksift, sent anywhere, or used for any other purpose.
Internet / network state — used by Google Sign-In and Google Play Billing. Stacksift makes no network requests of its own.
Sharing and exports
You can export your leads as PDF, Excel, Word, CSV, or a fixtures file, and add them to your phone's contacts. Each export happens only when you ask for it, and the file goes to Android's share sheet so you choose the destination. Once you share a file with another app, that app's privacy policy applies to it.
Other people's personal data
Business cards contain personal data belonging to the people who gave them to you. Stacksift is a tool for handling that data; you remain responsible for how you collect, keep and use it, including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and any other law that applies to you.
The app lets you delete any single lead — its photograph included — and delete everything at once, from the overflow menu.
Once a lead has been added to your phone contacts it is hidden from the main list to keep the scanning queue clear. It is only hidden: the lead is still on the device, still included in exports, and still shown by tapping "Show N in contacts".
Deleting your data
- Scanned leads: swipe a lead to delete it, or overflow → Delete all leads.
- Everything: uninstall the app. All local data goes with it.
- Google account link: overflow → Sign out.
- Subscription: cancel in the Play Store.
Because we hold no copy of your data on any server, there is nothing for us to delete on request — but if you have a question, write to us.
Children
Stacksift is a business tool and is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new "last updated" date.

Deleting your account and data
Stacksift keeps no account on any Divergeix server, so there is nothing for us to delete on our side. To remove everything Stacksift holds about you:
- On the phone: uninstall Stacksift. That deletes every scanned card, the recognised text, your corrections, the sign-in record and your trial counters. Nothing survives the uninstall.
- Your Google account: Stacksift appears under Third-party apps & services in your Google Account settings. Removing it there withdraws the sign-in permission.
- Your subscription: cancel it in the Google Play Store under Payments & subscriptions. Google Play holds the purchase record, not Divergeix.
If you want written confirmation, or believe we hold something we should not, email divergeixai@gmail.com with the subject "Stacksift data deletion" and we will reply within 7 days.
